FORWARD MOTIONS

We decided that we need to make forward motions every weekend towards our goal of moving to the property. Today I bid on 1 hour of excavation work on the radio auction and won. Tomorrow there is another hour up for auction too so I am going to try to get that one. Then we will use that to get the site ready for Gareld's shop. We also went to an open house for Adair Homes and we got some good information. We talked to a realtor about getting our house listed and marketed to sell. He's going to come by and take a look. We did a little yard work. Raked some leaves and pine cones from the front yard and driveway. It looks better. Gary fixed the side gate that got blown apart during the last big wind storm. He also worked in the shed trying to repack and reorganize his taxidermy room. We started the day driving to a few yard sales. We had a nice drive out to Union but didn't find much anywhere. I have a baptism to go to tonight. All in all it was a productive day.

EASTER PREP

Here's a few fun things I got on my trip a couple weeks ago in preparation for Easter decorating. Some are from thrift stores and some from Michaels Craft Store. I got out my tote of Easter stuff and strung it around the house yesterday. Morgan has a rabbit collection. I should start using it at eastertime. It is packed away somewhere right now along with alot of other fun stuff I miss seeing. I wish we could move on so I could unpack! We have had lookers again....maybe something will come of it, finally.

WYLIE COYOTE

We drove out to the property this evening to check the camera. There were about 12 photos of the hillside and that's it. We don't know if the wind sets it off...or birds. It will snap three in a row once it has been triggered. I am getting tired of that view of the hill. We need to move the camera. I think the trail has gone cold. Here is a coyote from a couple weeks ago. Now we just have to wait until the bears come out.

LOOK WHAT I BOUGHT

Every time I get back from a show people asked if I found anything good. I always find good stuff. I tend to be drawn to some of the same things. I always end up with spools for my collection. I can't get away from pot holders, aprons, tart tins, and post cards. I've been picking up glass paper weights and old photos lately. I look for things friends and family would like too. I found things for Morgan, Sandra, Suci, and my friend Tonie this time. I am also always looking for things I can re-sell at my shows. It is harder to find these low cost items at an antique show but once in awhile, especially on 50% sunday, I find great values. I bought 2 picnic baskets and some other little garden show items for our Something Special Spring Bazaar on May 8. Sometimes I say I am going to spend my whole budget on one big item that I really want but before you know it I have a trunk full of little treasures.

EXPO!!

I just got back from Portland. I go to this show 3 times a year and I always look forward to it! It is over so quickly though. I had a great weekend all to myself. I found lots of treasures. Countdown starts for the July show now.

CRAFTING

Look what I made! I saw these santas in a magazine about 4 years ago just as decoration in a photo. I tore out the page as I do with lots of magazines to keep with my ideas for later. Then a couple years later I saw them again in an article about the artist and it had a reference to her book. I ordered the book. Christmas '09 I thought I would make them...I didn't. After christmas that year I started cutting out the pattern and it got a little hard for my january brain and I didn't want to try to figure it out. Another christmas came and went. I dug them out this january to give them another try but I put them off until I had my scrapbooking caught up. I finished scrapping year 2001 and was ready to get my "crafty on". I was working away and they were looking cute then I knocked the iron on the floor last saturday and it wouldn't heat after that. I had to get a new iron and I just finished the last one today. I realized I made a big mistake but I won't point it out. Now can I mass produce them for the christmas show? I'm going to try.
