Ah...The Cove Drive In. Quite an institution. This spot has been an important part of my life for a very long time. Back when I lived in Cove as a fifth grader we went swimming at the Cove Pool all summer. We would take breaks and walk to get an ice cream cone or on the way home we would have one. We lived just down that road a mile or two. I had my first job there back in 8th or 9th grade (no child labor laws?). As I had my kids I took them swimming at the pool too and we also walked for ice cream and french fries. All the years we had our Something Special Cove Bazaar we would go there after everything was set up the night before and also after the sale the next day. Now on our many trips to the property we often swing through town to have a cone. If the dogs are along they get a doggie cone. We look forward to "special flavor" days but good old chocolate and vanilla twist is delicious too. Gary and I will be riding our bikes to Cove for ice cream some day but by then we may be on trikes!

STREET OF DREAMS
A couple of weeks ago they put up our street sign. Now when we say we live on Kerns Loop people can find it. Our address is 68389 Kerns Loop. We saw a mail box at a yard sale yesterday and Gareld almost got it. I had been thinking about that earlier, wondering if we need a locking box. We are out there on a long stretch of quiet road and I don't want the mail to be left exposed to everyone...but then again I don't want to start life in the country suspicious of others either. All that can be decided later. I told Gareld to get his shop built because I was going to get this house sold. Wish me luck!

FOUR WHEELING
I haven't been on a four-wheeler in years. It was time to move the critter cam on the property. Gareld wanted to put it up in the canyon on Della's property. Della is Gareld's aunt. Uncle Jud owned it before her. She bought it and our next door neighbors are family, it's nice. Anyway we went for a ride up the hill and placed it next to a trail with a small creek running through it. We are hoping to see spring bears. I'll sure let you know what we capture on film. As for the ride it was fun, the scenery was beautiful and I got to hug on my hubby!

ACCOUNTABILITY
I need to fit into this dress by August 21. My best friend, Tonie, is getting married and I'm going to be there in the wedding. It's in Tennessee and I expect it will be a blast. I've been looking online for a dress. I found this one on Overstock.com for $38.00. They only had it in size 8 or 12. I got the 12. I have been "trying" to get motivated to lose weight since Jan. 1st. You see I have put it off a little while. Five years ago I started an eating and exercise program and I had great success. It was easy to follow and I was determined. I was doing it with Morgan and Lexy. Then Lindsay and Gina joined in and I had a friend from work too. We stuck with it and looked great by summer! Well it's already summer so I am a bit behind. Morgan and I are at it again together. We will be reporting to each other and coming up with rewards and penalties. I am just putting this out there so I can be accountable and hopefully successful!

Boys and their Toys
This was the view from the road earlier today. We bought that old single wide trailer a couple years ago so we would have something to move into while we made the move out here to the property. It is really rough inside. We were going to have to totally remodel it with paint and new flooring in every room. Lot's of money would have gone into the "temporary" house to make it livable. We now have decided to skip that step. Gareld is going to get his shop built this summer. If our house sells we will just live in the shop until we can have a new house built here instead. Since we are using it a storage unit now and it is going to fill up with some of Sandra's stuff too, we decided to move it out of the way before it is too heavy. So get out the toys, boys!
Gareld is at the front with a cat that was his dads. Aren't dads funny...they have "stuff". Gareld had to give the trailer a little pull to get it started since the ground was still a little soggy from all the rain.

SPRING SHOW
Today was our "Something Special" Bazaar. I call it the spring show. It was a here in La Grande at the Riveria Activity Center for the 2nd time. The previous 6 years it had been out in Cove and the Christmas Show had been out there for about 20 years. Since it moved locations it's taken time to build up a regular following. Sandra and I have customers that we send postcards too so I think that helps. It also helps to finally have a name they can look for and remember. I made this sign to have at our booth to help with the name recognition. One lady today saw some of my stuff and asked if I was on "Etsy". I'm not but I think I will look into it. It's a online store for bloggers to sell their crafts. She said I would do really well on there. Hopefully she doesn't take my idea and sell it herself! We had a good day. I made enough to pay for those expensive trailer cushions I mentioned before.

Rain, Rain, Go Away!
Sister Shic was supposed to be at a show today. Out in Union Aggie's invited us to be apart of her "Spring Chick" antique and craft show. At 6:00 am it was raining like crazy. We waited until 8:00 to see if there was any sign of letting up. It didn't. It was cold and rainy all day. We cancelled. Our spot was on the lawn of the Union Hotel and we just couldn't justify sitting there in the rain. We hated to bail on her. I spent the day getting more things ready for next weeks show (which is indoors). I made up this tray of sewing items and buttons. It's pretty. I had fun being in the house all day by myself. Gary was out in North Powder working on his Nova.
