Here's a little peak at my barn doors. Dad is building them. I finally contributed to the shop project by painting the cross boards. This one is finished and I am working on the second one. Monday we will hang them and then I'll snap a shot of the whole door.Friday, April 22, 2011

WIRED
Sales in Cove on Saturday resulted in some great treasures. I went back to the estate sale that was going on last weekend to see if more had been added or prices reduced. Yes to both. They had opened up another house on the property to look through. I got a couple of picture frames, some silver pieces, old plastic Easter baskets I remember we had as kids and the white rack you see in the photo above. It is for maps or postcards. It hangs on the wall and has 30 "pockets". It was free! Then the Cove Clean-up Day sale was going on. Everything there was make offer. I got the wire basket and wire tray above plus the vase, pots, books, cowboy hat mug, and jewelry parts all for $5. Score! Monday, April 11, 2011

Business as Usual
Our season kicks off in a few weeks with the Something Special Craft and Antique Show. It is in May. We have other shows that pop up throughout the summer also. Sandra and I also want to start our own show out on the property. I plan on having an antique shop out there too. We are "Sister Shic". It is time to get busy working on new items and organizing old ones.
I decided to take advantage of all the empty space in this house and hauled about 25 totes, boxes and suitcases to Union to sort and repack. I've got a ways to go and a whole weekend to do it.
Here's how far I got at the end of the first day of sorting the totes. I am trying to organize it as I go to make it easier to set up for sales. I am also starting a yard sale pile.
I found these while on my trip to New York. I may just keep the leaf. It is a souvenir from Niagara Falls and I have been there a couple of times. It was a nice find in a little thrift store. Saturday, March 26, 2011
DOORS
I haven't posted anything about the property for a while so here it is. While I was in NY the door was installed. Gareld says it doesn't look much like a barn door. I know it doesn't but it doesn't look like an ugly shop door either. Dad is building the side doors and they will be "barnlike". I am hoping that pulls the look together. Then add the copula and a weather vane and you have a barn.Wednesday, March 23, 2011
Howdy "Neieieieigh"bor
appetite as you can see from the side of the barn. I guess they won't starve that way. When we first moved in I took a couple loaves of bread over. They didn't show much interest in that. While cleaning weeds out of the yard I even tried throwing some over the fence...no enthusiasm for that either. They have an owner who checks on them regularly so whatever he brings over in the bucket must hit the spot.

Far, Far, Away

One week ago I left this little cutie back in New York and flew home to work and life here in Oregon. I miss him a lot. We skyped yesterday and he is just so full of activity. He is figuring out that his body can really move. He is also talking up a storm. Morgan is going out there this week while on spring break. She flies from Boise on Tuesday. Jeremy will go out April 12. We all need our turn to see this newest member of our family. Brandon and Monica plan to bring him here to visit all the west coast friends and family in September. Can't wait!
