My Wy

Our visit with The Smith's in New York. We had so much fun. Lot's of great family down time. We just hung out at home most of the time and were entertained by Wyatt.

We watched an entire season of "Swamp People" on netflix.

We went on an outing to the thrift store.

We got to help Wyatt get ready for bed. Love the robe.

We went to church.

We played outside for a little while.

Granny Apple Smith read some stories.

Playing with Grandpa.

We made and ate Valentine cookies, Yum!

Crawling through the tunnel.

We played in the ball pit Wyatt got for Christmas. He really loves it.

Love those little feet! Can't wait to see them again.

BUFFET

The first yard sales of the season were held on Saturday. I didn't have plans to go into town early since I was planning on going to a movie in the afternoon. There were only two. My desire to "junk" got the best of me and off I went. I didn't know what time the Philly group's sale was at the fair grounds so I went to the animal shelter sale first. I found a few books to read at work, a silver tray, a jewelry box and some rubber stamps. I paid and then as I walked out the door of the storage unit I saw a wood screen leaning up against the wall. It was only $3.00. It doesn't have anything in the center of the panels so I am going to put burlap there. At the fairgrounds sale I found the buffet pictured above. I saw it as soon as I walked in and as I approached it I expected the tag to say SOLD. It wasn't, so I told them I wanted it! Lucky me! I saw the one below on Pinterest. Isn't it lovely. I've been seeing Annie Sloan Chalk Paints mentioned on blogs so I think I will research it and give it a try on this piece of furniture. The rest of the day was relaxing and I did go to the movie. Great day.

Does anyone feel like crafting? Here's a little something I whipped up today.

The first thing I did was buy a box of chocolates while shopping yesterday. I'm off the m&m's so this was a nice treat. I thought it was a good idea to save the box and use it again for something later. I couldn't get over being bothered by the name brand on the box and the nutritional info on the bottom so I got an idea....

I picked some pretty paper from my scrapbooking collection and used the heart box as the template for tracing.

I used spray adhesive to glue the paper cutouts to the top and bottom of the box.

Dig around in your craft drawer looking for ribbon, lace or other embellishments.

Finally choose a little bling and get out the glue gun. Anything goes.

Here we have the finished product. Now you can just fill it with candy or a gift and give it to someone special.

Day Trip

I went over the mountain to Pendleton today and here is what I found. A bulletin board to use for one of my countdown calendars, wood hearts for my Valentines Day decorations, an old dictionary to use in various crafts, two handmade rabbits, two baskets, and a couple hankies with hand written notes from some little old grandma. On Pinterest I saw a cute idea for book marks using pages from the dictionary with the graphics and pictures on each one. I had a nice day.
